Mayor Steve Bateman Disregards Open and Transparent Bid Process Rewarding Campaign Donor Who Placed 3rd of 4 in Wilton Manors

Homestead Ask Yourself What Would You Do For $3,500?

Bypassing the rules is nothing new in Homestead but to push a contract without an open bid process is unfair to taxpayers, residents and other service providers shutting them out in the process.

Something as important as Development Services needs to be a transparent process and not commingled with Building and Inspections without a bid process. In Wilton Manors Florida, they recognized this and opened the bid process. The tabulations are documented and MT Causley who is on record donating $3,500 to the Steve Bateman Campaign, came in third of four and this is the Mayor's choice.

Why no bid advertisement Mayor Bateman, what are you afraid of another third place finish of your choice for the job? Review the results from Wilton Manors. Page six has the results and page nine starts the advertised bid.

Mayor Bateman said he would be open and transparent, he is currently miles from how he said he would conduct himself and the City of Homestead's business as Mayor. Let's advertise for bids and let the City Manager put a panel in place to review the bids and it might be wise to include the Building Inspections, put everything out to bid.

Development services is up for grabs. And the mayor does not want competant people in that department. Purrinos started the purge and Bateman will finish it.

Connect the dots people.

Gretsas hires people he trusts.
Gretsas exposes the concrete overcharges.
Gretsas won't let Bateman control the bid process.
Gretsas won't let Bateman interfere with Development Services.
Joe Corradino assists Gretsas with concrete overcharges.

Bateman starts rumors about Gretsas and wants to replace Corradino with Causley. Classic Bateman.

a purge is necessary to get the bad blood out. there is too much back stabbing going on at coh for it to be a decent work environment. people are walking on egg chells trying to keep george happy and save their necks.

When will the feds take BAIT-man away already? I can't believe this BLOG and all the evidence that has been presented has not made it to the proper law enforcement agencies.

Too bad HIH, you pick on Jim H for his anonymity, but you yourself lost points in Miami News' blog awards for your refusal to reveal your name!! Hypocrasy, not an admirable trait!!

Jim H may be a politician, that is newsworthy. Nobody cares who the bloggers are.
The information about Homestead City Hall is true. Scary true sometimes.
Years ago the blog was strictly Keys Gate and developers being featured and that seems like decades ago.
Keep it up and have patience.

Obviously HIH cares who blogs, they won't release their own identity. Double standard. Hopefully no one relies on this site for truth and news. It is all opinion and no fact.

Homestead is Home does serve a purpose in our community. Although all the information posted in not accurate or even truthful at times, some of it is and the stuff that can be verified with documents IS absolutely useful when we are all being fed the BS by some of our local politicians.

Ah, yes, the world according to the ex-farmer in his 60's who lives in a gated community in Homestead where he bought for $177,000 in 2002 and now is only worth $119,000... So bitter all the time!

Points from a rag you read for the sex ads, who cares? The blog is entertaining and reveals much about Homestead. Your comments are about as significant to these guys as your brain which when comparatively scaled upwards is the size of a bb rolling down an eight lane highway.
I am glad this blog is here and you can always choose not to visit but you can't.
This particular blog says MT Causley employees gave $3500 to Bateman and Bateman wants them in Homestead doing all aspects of B&Z. Another city evaluated Causley and they came in third out of four. So why wouldn't Bateman want the company that came in first?

I'll wait.......

Nobody cares who comments unless it is out of bounds. The people should care about who writes to the council trying to influence them anonymously.

All lobbyists register and all speakers on an issue must take an oath. Why should the council accept your anonymous emails?

THAT IS THE ISSUE.

JIM H. When addressing council you are required to state your name and address for the record. You failed and have been called out.

did it ever occur to you that if he gave name and address they might be swayed by his reputation? sometimes an opion from a known person is more weighted. At least the point got across without being tainted by his rep.

All the more reason to give his/her name.

Coward and Bateman plant all rolled into one. The BAITster is predictable he does the same things over and over.
Then Steadman saves him again, over and over.
